Bengaluru: MongoDB has expanded its MongoDB for Academia initiative in India by partnering with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Education. The collaboration aims to upskill 500,000 students with critical expertise in modern database technologies and AI-powered applications.
The partnership will leverage learning platforms like SmartInternz and GeeksforGeeks, providing students with virtual internships and MongoDB certifications. Since its launch in 2023, the MongoDB for Academia program has established over 200 educational partnerships, trained more than 100,000 students, and clocked over 450,000 hours of learning. Through its collaboration with AICTE and platforms like SmartInternz, MongoDB aims to address India’s growing demand for tech professionals with skills in cutting-edge technologies like generative AI and cloud computing.
This initiative will also enable over 150,000 students to access MongoDB’s Atlas platform through virtual internships. Meanwhile, the partnership with GeeksforGeeks will provide MongoDB’s Developer Learning Path to its 25 million registered users, significantly boosting students’ job readiness and aligning with industry needs.
MongoDB’s Indian leadership, including Area Vice President Sachin Chawla, emphasized the importance of empowering the next generation of Indian developers. Amarender Katkam, CEO of SmartBridge, highlighted the platform’s role in equipping students with the necessary skills to meet the demands of modern tech roles.
